About us

The company IOSS Intelligente optische Sensoren und Systeme GmbH develops, produces and sells identification and image processing systems for optical quality assurance and process automation, which are used in a variety of industrial fields, such as automotive, semi-conductor, solar and medical engineering.

IOSS GmbH was founded in 1998 by directors:

in Radolfzell, Germany.

The company sets itself apart with innovative concepts and products. With our customer-specific OEM systems, we are also offering customised solutions for our clients.

Based on our many years of experience, know-how and technical expertise, we are the perfect partner when it comes to the reading and verification of 2D codes. Whether fixed mount readers or hand-held scanners, our reading systems are convenient, efficient and reliable. Our fixed mount readers decode and verify directly marked 2D codes according to the ISO/IEC 29158 (AIM DPM 2006) and our own validation standard “rated reading”. Our plain text readers (OCR readers), which can be taught a variety of reading functions in an efficient and flexible manner thanks to their modular design, have likewise proved valuable in the day-to-day industrial routine.

We have remained faithful to our vision of manufacturing intelligent optical sensors with the ability of handle complex image processing tasks while remaining easy to integrate with other systems. For more than 20 years, we have become highly experienced in scanning directly marked 2D codes (DPM), even under difficult conditions. A key part of our corporate philosophy is to provide our customers with the best possible solution. This is what we stand for with all of our experience.

Our company is marked chiefly through expertise in electronics, optics, lighting and software development. We have won many awards in recent years for our pioneering development of new ID systems:

• Our Wafer Identification Reader won a place on the Best of IT List of the “initiative mittelstand” (initiative for mid-sized enterprises in Germany).
• IOSS GmbH won place 44 at the “Technology Fast 50 Deutschland Award” ceremony.
• In the innovation contest of Baden-Württemberg, our company won the Dr. Rudolf Eberle Prize for our “WID110” wafer ID reader for the “reliable identification of semiconductor wafers”.
